Q.Q. PRESS
(Incorporating Quantum Leap Poetry Magazine)
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

As well as for any competitions we run, we welcome submissions for publication in Quantum Leap as follows: (A max of 6 poems please.)

Please note that the editor much prefers punctuated poetry to unpunctuated and abhors the use of lower case letters throughout a poem.

1) Poems MUST be your own work and you MUST hold copyright to them.

2) Poems may be in any style and any length - although space dictates that those of epic length may have less chance than shorter poems! ( Ideally we’d like a mix of shorter poems - i.e. up to 20 lines, and longer ones - i.e. up to 40 lines.)

3) We welcome rhyming poetry.

4) We WILL consider poems which have been published before provided a) 1 above applies and b) you list details of previous publication so we may acknowledge it.

5) Poems to be typed, word-processed, or clearly written on ONE side of white A4 paper.

6) Please put your name and address on the BACK of each poem and indicate whether or not you are a subscriber to Quantum Leap. ( We publish subscribers and non-subscribers but, all other things being equal in terms of a poem’s quality, we may favour that of the subscriber, or someone who has at least bought a copy of the magazine, over a non-subscriber, as it is they who help to keep us solvent! )

7) If you want a reply or your work returned you MUST enclose an S.A.E. - and the S in S.A.E. stands for STAMPED not just Self. ( Small Press Magazines can’t afford to reply to people who don’t enclose S.A.E.s - we get hundreds of enquiries and the postage would be astronomical.) If submitting from abroad, please note that stamps from your own country have no validity here and you should enclose 2 I.R.C.s (International Reply Coupons) with your addressed envelope instead.

(if you have a problem in the U.S. in obtaining IRCs, then for any case where you are asked for these in connection with Q.Q.Press, you should enclose $5 U.S. instead.)

8) We will PAY for publication at the rate of £2 per poem. Except for really short ones, where the £2 will be for a number of these.

9) Copyright remains with you - we’ll be paying for F.B.S.R. or 2nd as the case may be.

10) Please note - as we pay for all the poetry we use, we are not able to provide a free, complimentary copy of the magazine as well and hope that you’ll support us by buying a copy or subscribing to the magazine.

Submissions to : Quantum Leap, York House, 15 Argyle Terrace, Rothesay, Isle of Bute, PA20 0BD, Scotland, U.K.
